Objective

I am a solid dependable bass player with 30 years experience. I have played many diverse musical styles, and I specialize in Fretless Bass.
Seeking a position where I can use my enthusiasm for the bass, and all things musical to inspire others to enjoy this adventure as much as I do, and to continue my creative career on a high level.

Skills

Live Performance
Maintained an active, varied schedule of live performances with many different acts. I have played Nightclubs, theaters, Mob weddings, restaurants, locked down psych wards, fairs, nudist colonies, and international festivals, and developed a very good reputation as a reliable and talented bassist.

Recording
Recorded albums, demos, and jingles at a wide variety of studios. Assisted in mix down and production. I’m a fast learner, with an innate sense of what a producer/artist needs.

Jam Hosting
Established, managed, and worked in the House Band for many “Jam Nights”.

Teaching
Teaching has been a part of my career for 20 years, with an emphasis on “real world” bass skills to get the student involved in music on more than a scholarly level. I've taught individuals and groups, lessons and siminars.

Bass Maintenance and Repair
Proficiency at set ups, general maintenance, and customization of my instruments. Expertise with vintage bass identification.

Graphic Arts
Maintain and update my own web-site (kennanshaw.com), Designed album covers, logos, posters, and flyers.
